Her obituary in the Morehead News read “Opal Brewer Blair, 82, of 306 South Xenia, Enon, Ohio, formerly of Morehead, died Tuesday, March 11, [1997] at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Ohio. She was a former employee of Cowden's Manufacturing, a member of the Pentecostal Church of God and was a member of the Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletis H. Blair who died on Sept. 9, 1978; one son, Denvil Lee Blair who died on Sept. 10, 1984; one brother, Ernie Brewer and two sisters, Icey Fields and Zelpha Gibson. Surviving are three sons, Charles A. Blair of Fayetteville, Ohio, Burnell Clay Blair of Winchester and Donald Blair of Enon, Ohio; one daughter, Zola Blair of Kettering, Ohio; three brothers, Mitchell Brewer and Estill Brewer, both of Orlando, Fla. and Carl Brewer of Morhead; three sisters, Thelma Blair and Ethel Adkins, both of Morehead and Evelyn Lucas of Louisville, Ohio. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, March 14, at 2 p.m. at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis Fields officiating with burial at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special Music: Faith Chapel Singers.”
