Kathleen Cole writes that she thinks the William Jones who was listed as age 7 in 1850 with the family of William Sargent, #128, is this William Fleming Jones. Isaac was listed next door at #127.

Her death certificate records Derina Jones, age 74 years 3 months 11 days, born 7 Feb 1842 in Kentucky, died 18 May 1916 in Elliott Co., Ky, married, father Peter Bair, mother’s maiden name M. Knipp, both born in Kentucky, cause of death old age or natural causes, informant Calvin Jones, Sideway, Ky, burial in Jones Cemetery, Sideway, Ky.

1870 census of Rowan Co., Christy Creek prec., taken June 8, lists family #4:
Fleming Jones, 27, farmer; Dorena, 25; Mary, 5; John, 3; Melvina, 8/12, b. Oct. All born in Ky. Fleming can read but not write; Dorena can neither read nor write.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Christy Creek prec., lists as family #415:
Fleming Jones, 38; Drinney, 37; Mary F., 16; John W., 14; Elizabeth, 12; Henry, 10; Nancy, 8; Jackson, 6; Andrew, 1/12, born April. Elizabeth age 12 is probably the same daughter as Melvina age 8/12 in 1870 (the other two children also seem to be listed as 11 years older in 1880 than they were in 1870, and it is not uncommon to call a child by a different name than was used as a baby.)

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hoggtown precinct, p. 231B, lists as family #11:
Jones, William F., 57, b. [Jun or Jan] 1843, farmer, Ky Ky Ky; Derena, wife, b. [Jan or Jun] 1842, 58, Ky Ky Ky; married 37 years, mother of 9 children, 8 living; Sarah E., dau, 13, b. Dec 1886, Ky Ky Ky. (“Sarah E.” may be the same person as the Rebecca Jones who married George Lowe, see her marriage notes.)

1910 census of Rowan Co., Hoggtown, E.D. 156, page 1A, lists as family #8:
Jones, William F., 67; Derina, 68. Married 48 years, 9 children, 7 living.
