There is no death record in Rowan County for any Lida/Lyda/Lydia/Liddy etc. Brown. Her gravestone says Lyda Jones Brown, May 22, 1889 - Dec 21, 1982.

Rowan Co. marriage register, Bk 5, lists the marriage of Leslie Brown, age 21, and Lida Jones, age 16, on 24 Dec 1905, witnesses David M. Jones and J. B. Jones, at James Henry Hall's. I cannot find any Lida, Lyda or Lydia Jones of that approximate age (she should be 10 or 11 in the 1900 census) in the families of David M. Jones or James Boyd Jones or even their brother's families. There is an Allie Jones, b. Aug 1889, age 10 in 1900 in the James Boyd Jones family, whose husband I do not know; perhaps her full name was Lydia Alice.
