The Kentucky death index lists David H. Marshall, age 77, died 8 June 1973 in Jefferson Co.

His obituary in the Louisville Courier Journal reported “David Henry Marshall, 77, of 7014 Linton Court, died 5 p.m., Friday, June 8, 1973, at his home. He was a Morgan Co., Ky native and a retired employee of Chess & Wymond Co.

Survivors include his wife, the former Malicca Quesinberry; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Womack and and Mrs. Cova Lombardo; a son, Dof Marshall, of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.”

Additional information on this family is from Caroline (Womack) Akers, a daughter of Sonny & Malicca's daughter Anna (Marshall) Womack.

As a child, she spelled her name Malissa, but changed it to Malicca as an adult. It is pronounced like Melissa, though.

She died at the home of her granddaughter Caroline (Womack) Akers in Jeffersonville, Indiana, which is right across the bridge over the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky.

I cannot find this family in the 1920 or 1930 censuses. In 1920 they may have been in transit between West Virginia and Kentucky.
