Notes for George W. Gregory
His gravestone gives his birthdate as 15 Jan 1851, but he was listed as age 2 in the 1850 census, so that can’t be right. I am entering his birthdate as 15 Jan 1849, under the supposition that he was really 1 1/2 in the summer of 1850.

1870 census of Bath Co., Ky, Mud Lick precinct, enumerated 24 Aug, lists on p. 42, as resident employees of Edmund Wells age 43 with wife Elizabeth age 33:
Hall, Lucy, 18, house keeper; Gregory, George, 22, farm hand; James, 19, farm hand. All born in Kentucky.
1880 census of Bath Co., Ky, Polksville precinct, enumerated 8 June, lists on p. 8 as family #78:
Grigery, George, 30, farmer; Lucy, 26, wife; Elizabeth, 8, dau; Elen, 6, dau; James L., 4, son. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The next household is a widowed Sarah Hall, living alone, listed as age 40, who is very probaby Lucy’s mother, even though she would have really been 47. (Lucy herself was really 28.)
