Eagle's Notes & Queries, Annual Vol. 1898, reporting records of the Hill Church or Quitophilla Church, in Annville twp, 4 m NW of Lebanon, PA, lists John Schlosser, son of Peter and Margaretha Schlosser, born 10 Sep 1754, bapt. 3 Dec 1754, sponsors John & Catherine Uhler.
Shirley Hylton lists this son as "John George Slusher", but I do not know her source for the middle name.
In military pension application, number R 9666, John Slusher of Montgomery Co., VA, age 81, applying for pension, states that he enlisted in 1775 at age 21 under Capt. John Nelson, and that at the time he resided near Hagerstown, MD. John Slusher states that he was wounded in the battle of Brandywine. His brother Christopher, resident of Floyd Co., VA, age 78, filed an affidavit with the application, stating that he also was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and that his brother John served in the time stated.
