The Social Security death index lists Luther Scaggs, b. 12 Aug 1895, d. Aug 1954, SSN 451-05-3118 issued in Texas. No last residence is given in the SSDI, but he was listed as living in Longview, Tx in the 1949 obituary of his brother Norman, so I assume he died there.
