His WWI draft registration card, issued in 1917/1918 (the images on Ancestry do not show the side of the card that has the date it was filed), says Arthur Riddle, age 18, residence Crix, Ky, born 18 May 1899, occupation farmer, employer Nathan Riddle, nearest relative Nathan Riddle.
Rowan County News of 12 Aug 1937 wrote “Funeral services for Arthur Riddle were held at his home on Slab Camp on Sunday afternoon and burial was made in the family cemetery. Mr. Riddle who was thirty eight years old at the time of his death had been ill for a long time; he was in the hospital for almost a year and was brought home two months ago. He passed away on Friday August 6. Besides his wife, he leaves five children, all at home. They are Medford, Billie Jean, Leola, Glenna and Pauline. His mother, Mrs. Mary E. Riddle has been with him constantly during his illness.”
His death certificate (Vol. 45, #22460) states Arthur Riddle, age 35, birthdate blank, died 6 Aug 1937 in Rowan Co., married, wife Isa Riddle, father Nathan Riddle, mother Mary Brown, occupation none, invalid, cause of death insane, informant David Perry.
