A county history article on the Ambrose Jones family of Morgan Co. identifies his son James with the James Jones who married Lucinda. However, I believe that the parents of the James W. Jones who married Lucinda were really the William and Sarah who were living with them, and that Ambrose's son James either died young or moved out of the area. Some of Ambrose Jones's descendants moved to the part of Floyd Co. that stayed Floyd, but I have not researched them there.

He may be the James F. Jones who married Deborah Trumbo on 2 May 1831 in Bath Co., and moved to Linn Co., Missouri between 1850 and 1860 (residing next door to Henry Daniel Nickell in the 1870 census), although census ages suggest that James Jones was born closer to 1804 or 1805.
