His death certificate recorded William Clarence Hall, age 40 years 6 months 22 days, born 8 Dec 1888 in Kentucky, died 30 June 1929 in High Point, Guilford Co., North Carolina, residence Matthews, N.C., married, husband of Maude Hulin Hall, occupation minister, father Samuel Hall, mother’s maiden name Etta Thurber, both born in New York State, cause of death nephritis, acute, with general edema, informant Mrs. Maude Hall, Matthews, N.Car., burial in Love Joy Cemetery, Troy.

His obituary in the High Point Enterprise reported “William C. Hall, aged 40, and a Methodist Protestant minister, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He had been a patient here for two weeks. Mr. Hall was serving the Mecklenburg Circuit and had made his home at Matthews near Charlotte for the past two years.
Born in Monroe county, Kentucky, December 8, 1888, a son of Samuel and Etta Thurber Hall, he had spent the greater part of his life in this state. In 1914 he was married to Miss Maude Hulin, of Montgomery county, who with four children, Etta, Lucile, Ruth and J. W. Hall survive. One brother, Oscar Hall, of Lexington, Ky., and one sister, who lives in Indiana, also survive.
A short service was held at the Chapel of Yow's Funeral Home this morning at eleven o'clock by Rev. G. L. Reynolds, pastor of the English Street M. P. church and Rev. Paul S. Kennett. The funeral party then left for Love Joy M. P. church near Troy for further services and interment.”
