Rowan Co., to Nora Turner, 18, born Rowan Co., at E. S. Turner's by Samuel Nickell, witnesses Willie Caudill & George Pelfrey, surety by Albert E. Caudill.
(The 1880 census of Rowan Co. lists an E. S. Turner, 50, with wife Nancy J., 51, son George A. 25, and daughters Rosa, 11, Mary A., 13, Ina May, 8. Since Nancy J. was beyond childbearing, either E. S. Turner remarried around 1881, or Nora is his granddaughter rather than his daughter.)
