The Ohio deaths database lists Charles E. Pettit, age 84, died 27 Jan 1959 in Norwood, Hamilton Co., Ohio, married.
The 1900 census also gave his birthdate as Sep 1874. But the 1880 census listed him as age 7. If he were born in Sep 1874 he would be only 5 in June 1880. So I suspect that he was really born earlier.

All the parents birthplace fields say Ohio. There is a black strip like a tape mark obscuring the entire place of birth column, but it is probably Ohio since the enumerator wrote out full state names, and there is nothing sticking out past the edges of the black mark.
