Elaine Winkler lists Leemon second in birth order, while Katherine Cole lists him as first and says that he was born in 1842. Both state that he choked to death on parched corn, and died before 1860. (Both he and his brother William Fleming were listed as age 7 in the 1850 census. Considering the similarity of their names, they may be twins.)
