Although this family is only very distantly related to me, I am recording them in detail because the families of Grant Pettit and John W. Pettit, sons of my GGG Uncle Benjamin Pettit, also settled in Elkhart, Indiana, and I want to be able to keep track of which of the northern Indiana Pettits are from which branch.

The daughter “Janasan” is apparently a variant spelling of Eunice.
