His death certificate records Craig Pettitt, age 79, birthdate blank, born in Grant Co., died 3 Dec 1925 in Pendleton Co., Ky, single, father Phillip Pettitt, born in New Orleans, mother’s maiden name Zerilda Craig, birthplace don’t know, cause of death acute pericarditis, informant Mrs Carlisle Carter, 507 Garrard Str, Covington, Ky, burial in Riverside Cem, Falmouth, Ky.

The age at death would imply a birthdate in 1846. It is not consistent with either the age or the birthdate given in the 1900 census. The August 1851 date entered in my database is from Steve Navaro. The informant seems to have been misinformed about Craig’s father.

1900 Census of Pendleton Co., sheet 2, line 30, lists as a boarder with the family of A.D. Burlew:
Pettit, Craig, Aug 1856, 42, b. Ky.
Note that the age is not consistent with the given date of birth.
