The Kentucky birth index lists Samuel D. Kidd, born 27 May 1918 in Pulaski Co., mother’s maiden name Anna Price.
The WWII Army Enlistments database records Samuel D. Kidd, born 1918 in Kentucky, residence Rowan Co., Ky, enlisted 22 May 1944 in Fort Thomas, Newport, Ky, enlistment for the duration of the war plus six months, education 3 years of high school, occupation locomotive fireman, married.
The SSDI lists Samuel D. Kidd, born 7 May 1918, died 12 Aug 1995 in Round Rock, Williamson Co, Texas, SSN issued in Kentucky.
His stone in Forest Lawn Cemetery, as surveyed by the Rowan Co. Historical Society, says Sam P. Kidd, 1918 - 1995. Considering the mismatch of middle initials, is possible that I have misidentified the Sam Kidd who married Mona Pearl Jones with the one who was born in 1918 in Pulaski Co. But I can find no other Samuel Kidd born in Kentucky in 1917 to 1919, in either the birth index or the censuses. So it seems more likely that the historical society’s survey has his middle initial wrong. (The stone may be correct; often the surveyors misread their own notes.)

It also lists Lillie Jones, born the same date, mother’s maiden name Lillie McClaine. I don’t know whether this represents a twin who died young, or a clerical error which was corrected.
Social Security Death Index lists Mona Kidd, born 5-11-1921, SSN 404-01-7368 issued in Kentucky, died May 1982 in Virginia, last residence zip 22026 (covers towns of Montclair and Dumfries in Prince William County).
