His obituary reported “Mr. Thomas A. Easterling, 79, of Hilton Head Island, SC, died Jan 1, 2011 after a lengthy illness. His private interment will be in Frankfort, KY.
The son of the late Jess Easterling and Mary Blair Easterling, he was born in Shelby, OH. He served in the US Army 1953 - 1956 as a medical laboratory technologist. In 1957, he joined the Kentucky State Police as a forensic scientist , retired as Forensic Laboratory Manager in 1995 and moved to Hilton Head Island in 1997.
He graduated from Breckenridge Training School, Morehead KY, then earned a BS degree from Morehead State University in Biology & Chemistry in 1953. In 1978, he earned an MPA from Kentucky State University.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Davenport Easterling, Hilton Head Island, SC; a daughter and son in law, Patricia and Norm Yeager, Roswell, GA; a sister, Marilyn Ogg, Lexington, OH; three nephews, Kevin Crawford, Virginia Beach, VA; Tom Crawford, Powell, OH; Dr. Robert Ogg, Akron, OH; and a niece, Tara Ogg, Denver, CO.”
