His WW I draft registration card, filed 10 Sep 1918, records Flem Ingle, age 45, residence Farmers, Rowan Co., Ky, born 11 Feb 1873, occupation sawmilling, employer Lenox Sawmill Co., Morgan Co., Ky, nearest relative Lizzie Ingle, Farmers, Rowan Co., Ky.
His obituary reported “Sudden Death Takes Flem Ingle at Home - Flem Ingle, 76, 901 S. Madison Street, died suddenly at 6 o'clock last night at his home. Born in Cowan County, Ky, Mr. Ingle had lived in Muncie for the last 20 years.
Surviving are the widow, Elizabeth; three daughters, Mrs. Findley Salyer and Mrs. John Mullin, both of Muncie, and Mrs. Henry Werkowitz of Santa Monica, Cal; two step-daughters, Mrs. William Craig and Mrs. Turner Carpenter, both of Muncie; two sisters, Mrs. Winston Hudgins of Morehead, Ky., and Mrs David Simms of Winchester, Ky., and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Monday.”
The obituary neglected to mention his surviving son Roy, probably just a typesetting omission.
