Rowan Co. marriage book 6, p. 129, records marriage on 22 Feb 1907 of William F. Perkins, 20, s/o Alvin & Annie M. Perkins, to Alice Whitt, 16, d/o Bob Whitt & Annie Caudill, at the bride's home by Jos. E. Stewart, witnesses George Quisenberry & Jessie Perkins.
Alvin's birthplace is given as Owen Co., William's as Rowan Co., and all others as Morgan Co. This conflicts with other records which list Alvin & Annie as born in Rowan Co.
During this time period Rowan Co. marriage records listed the mother of the bride and groom by the surname she had at the time of the marriage, so the reference to “Annie Caudill” means that Alice’s mother had remarried to a Caudill, not that it was her maiden name.
