According to his grandson Earl Howard Alderman Jr., he was killed by Wilbur Moore, son of Millard Moore. Two years later Moody’s younger brother Andrew shot and killed Wilbur in a pool room, because Wilbur had declared “I already killed one Alderman, and I aim to kill me another one before I go to war.”
