The Kentucky birth index lists Curtis Hall, born 18 Oct 1912 in Breathitt Co. (a misindexing of Rowan), mother’s maiden name Elva Craig.
His obituary in the Morehead News of March 4, 1997, reported “Curtis Hall, 84, of 5375 U.S. 60 East, Morehead, died Thursday, Feb 27 [1997] at the Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook. He was born Oct. 18, 1912 in Rowan County to the late Zora T. and Elva Crace Hall. A member of the Church of God, he was retired from C&O Railroad, where he had worked for 33 years. Surviving are his wife, May Puckett Hall; a son, Kenneth Lee Hall of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Nora Thurman of Morehead; two brothers, Daniel B. Hall of Portsmouth, Ohio and Harold Hall of Jeffersonville; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A daughter, Wanda Jolley, preceded him in death in 1975. Funeral services were scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Max Molihan and the Rev. James Pelfrey officiating, with burial at the Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: J. C. Jolley Jr., Travis Jolley, Frank Henderson, Glenn Hall, Gary Glover and Jack Hall.”
