Her obituary reported:
“Lillie M. Crose, 89, Muncie, passed away in The Lynd House Assisted Living Center after a long illness.
A Muncie resident since 1931, she was born in Summertown, Tenn., to the late John and Lusinda McKenzie Griggs. Lillie was a retired employee of American Lawn Mower of Muncie, and the Griggs Wholesale Florists in Muncie. She was a devoted member of the Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church in Muncie and the Avondale Sympathy Club.
She is survived by three sisters, Mattie Hole and Gladys Gausmann, both of Muncie, and Sandra Winner (husband-William), Farmland.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, in July 1984; her parents; and five brothers, Clarence, James, Harold, Kenneth and Washington Griggs.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Parson Mortuary, 801 Adams St., Muncie, with Pastor James O. McCowan officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.”
