John Holly Cornette, 97, of Alum Creek died July 25, 1999, in Heartland of Charleston after a long illness.
He was a retired miner and a self-employed restaurant operator in Morehead, Ky, and Uneeda. He was a member of Assembly of God Church, St. Albans.
Surviving: daughters, Lucille Ross of Pennsylvania, Lorine Gore of Quinland, Pauline Rymer of Alum Creek; sons, William of Letter Gap, Don of De Land, Fla., Art of Beckley; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 8 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor David Cyphers officiating. Graveside service will 2 p.m. Tuesday in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.
