His obituary in the Morehead News reported “Atlee Glennith “Ginnie” Parsons, 69, of Elliottville, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

    He was born on June 4, 1941 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Charlie and Maudie Crum Parsons.

    Mr. Parsons was an employee of Homer Gregory Company. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and spending time with his family and friends.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kendall Lee Parsons, who passed away on June 13, 2004 and two brothers, Charles Parsons, Jr. and Dollsey Parsons.

    Survivors include his wife, Christine Trent Parsons, whom he married on January 12, 1963, one daughter, Cathy Johnson and her husband, John of Morehead, one sister, Ruth Nickell of May’s Lick, two grandchildren, Tella Johnson and John Michael Johnson and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Glover officiating. Burial was in the Parsons Family Cemetery.

    Pallbearers were Daniel Howard, Jason Brown, Josh Howard, Shawn Adkins, Sammy Adkins and Ray Dehart.”
