The family group that I got for the George Sherman Lewis family through email listed Phoebe as the youngest child of George and Lela, with a birthdate of about 1925, but that is inconsistent with census, birth and death records.
The Kentucky birth index lists Phoeba C. Lewis, born 29 Oct 1914 in Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Lela Early. It also lists Ara Lewis, born 28 Oct 1914 in Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Lener Erley.
There are two markers in Brown Cemetery that are very likely to both be hers. One is a double stone for Phoeba L. Butcher, mother, and Charles Homer Butcher (22 Jan 1938-25 Nov 1977), son, with Phoeba’s birthdate given as 29 Oct 1915, and no death date for her. The other is a plaque, inscribed Phoeba Lewis Butcher, Oct 29, 1914 - Sep 3, 2000, wife of Carl I. Butcher.
