The SSDI lists Viola Mae Lambert, born 26 Oct 1921, died 31 Dec 2003, last residence Bluffton, Wells Co., Indiana, SSN issued in Ohio before 1951.
Her obituary reported “Viola ‘May’ Lambert, 82, Mother of Dan and Darrell Lambert of Bluffton. Viola ‘Mae’ Lambert, 82, of 628 Greenbriar Dr., Bluffton, died at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru, from injuries in an automobile accident. The accident also claimed the life of her Bluffton sister, Juanita Bone, who died Wednesday night at Parkview Hospital.
A Wells County resident since 1981, Mrs. Lambert was retired since 1979 after working 15 years as an assembler at the Ford Meter Box Company in Wabash. She was a resident of Indiana since 1958 and a member of the United Baptist Church, Silver Lake, Ind.
Born Oct. 26, 1921, at Morehead, Ky., she was a daughter of Samuel and Eva DeHart Smedley. Her marriage was on June 15, 1944 at Morehead to Benjamin “Frank” Lambert, who preceded her in death on July 20, 1992.
Surviving, in addition to the two Bluffton sons, are another son, Dennie Lambert of Cartersville, Ga.; three brothers, William Smedley of Sabina, Ohio, James Smedley of Morehead, Ky., and Roger Smedley of Lagro; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by another sister, Magelean Mabry, and two brothers, Oscar and Junior Ray Smedley.”
