Joe Gadus’ GEDCOM file had a birthdate of 16 Nov 1858 for John, without indication of its source. 1858 is within the period when birth records for Kentucky were submitted to the state auditor, so perhaps it is from Floyd Co birth records. (A family bible seems unlikely as a source since most of the family does not have exact birthdates.)

The reason I am mentioning my source for this date is that there is a John Baldridge buried in the Baldridge Cemetery with dates 11 Sep 1858 to 1 June 1924 on his stone, and there is also a Margaret Baldridge buried in the same cemetery with dates 1867 to 1947. That looks very likely to be the stone for this John P. Baldridge, but the birthdate is different than the one from Joe’s file.

Rowan Co. marriage book 4, p. 493, records license issued 12 July 1903 for John Baldridge, 44, third marriage, farmer, residence Morehead, born and mother born in Floyd Co., father born Virginia, and Maggie Meed, 32, second marriage, residence Morehead, born and both parents born in Virginia.

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct 7, enumerated 28 April, lists on p. 9B as family #156/158:
Baldridge, John, 50, b. Ky Ky Ky, farmer, 2nd marriage; Margaret, wife, 39, b. Va Va Va, 2nd marriage, married 7 years, mother of 6 children, 6 living; Luther, son, 10, b. Ky Ky Ky; Lucima, dau, 10, b. Ky Ky Ky; Dolly, dau, 6; George, son, 4; Sallie, dau, 2; Green, son, 1. The four youngest born Ky Ky Va.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct #7, enumerated 20 Jan, lists on p. 7B on Dry Creek Road as family #13:
Baldridge, John, 61; Maggie, wife, 51; Dolly, dau; George, son, 14; Sallie, dau, 11; Green, son, 10; Francis, dau, 7; Addla, son, 5 1/12.
