His death certificate erroneously records his gender as female, and states Reney Carter Wells, age 67 years 19 days, born 22 Mar 1853 in Morgon Co., Ky, died 10 Apr 1920 in Menifee Co., Ky, widowed, father Oliver Perry Wells born Ky, mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Downing, born Indiana, cause of death pneumonia fever, informant J. H. Wells, Wellington, Ky, burial in Wells Cemetery.
