Her death certificate records Laura Jane Wright, age 48 years 9 months 8 days, born 24 Feb 1882 in West Virginia, married, father Fola Wright, mother’s maiden name Eliza Mullins, both born in W. Va, cause of death nephritis of kidneys, informant B. F. Fannin, Clayton, Ky, burial in Clayton Cemetery.

This is not a complete family group. I am only entering the descendants who are in my database because of other ties, and the notes that provide evidence for the parents of Ranze Wright who married my half great-great aunt Rosey Dehart.

1910 census of Elliott Co., Ky, precinct 8, enumerated 22 April, lists on p. 3B as family #53/54:
Fannin, Franklin B., 32, farmer, b. Ky Ky Ky; Laura, wife, 28, b. WVa WVa WVa, first marriage for both, married 5 years, mother of 3 children, 3 living; Nellie E., dau, 4; Benjamin L., son, 2; Scotland, son, 1/12; Right, Bessie B., 20, single, servant, housework; Sparks, Eli, servant, 45, widowed, farm jobs.

All except Laura are listed as born Ky Ky Ky, although since she is the mother of the children they should be listed as Ky Ky WVa. Laura’s brother is listed two households above as Ranze Right. It is also likely that Bessie Right is related to Laura, and thus that her parents’ birthplaces should be listed as WVa as well. (Or more likely the part of Virginia that became West Virginia.)

1920 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Laurel precinct, enumerated 19 Jan, lists on p. 4B as family #70:
Fannin, Benjamin, 42, b. Ky Ky Ky; Laura J., wife, 39, b. WVa Va Ky; Nellie E., dau, 13; Benjamin L., son, 12; Author E., son, 10; Audgar V., son, 7; Orvile T., son, 6; Claude, son, 3 5/12; Clyde, son, 3 5/12; Right, Rans, brother-in-law, 36, b. Ky Va Ky.

All children listed as born Ky Ky Ky, although, again, that is inconsistent with Laura’s birthplace being listed as W. Va. (And the children are really hers, because the younger four are listed in the Ky birth index, and some of them appear in the Kentucky death records with both parents listed.)
