This Jesse Pettit is found in Bath Co. tax lists from 1811 to 1816, although he doesn't appear in any census. He was at least 21 by the beginning of 1814, because on 10 Jan 1814 he provided surety on a marriage bond for William Crouch and Polly Bradshaw, daughter of Peter Bradshaw. Probably he is a son either of Matthew or Jeremiah.
