In email correspondence with Fay Horn Beck, she wrote that her father James Alva Horn was born on 11 Oct 1899, that he married first Bertha Yates on 29 Oct 1919, they divorced, he married second Thelma Louise Cook, that marriage also ended in divorce, and he married third Christina Castalieda who was born in Mexico. He died 18 Aug 1964 in a plane crash in Danville, Virginia. Her mother, Bertha Yates Horn, was born on 27 June 1896, daughter of Richard Yates and Louisa B. Davis. She did not remarry after her divorce from Alva, and died 16 Sep 1983.
