His obituary in the Morehead News of Sept. 2, 1997 says:
"Emil Trent, 67, of 213 Heritage Place, Morehead, died Monday, Sept. 1, at the St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born July 5, 1930 in Rowan County to the late Philip and Ethel Mathews Trent. He worked for Ed Mabry Construction Company of Morehead for 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Marie Dillon Trent on Dec. 23, 1989.
Surviving are five sons, Glennis Trent of Olive Hill, Ray Trent of Fleming County, Gary Trent, Roger Trent and Randy Trent, all of Morehead; four brothers, Emerson Trent, Thurman Trent, Denny Trent and Curtis Trent, all of Morehead; four sisters, Victoria Davis of Ewing, Elenor McDaniel of Detroit, Mich., Faye Stover of Morehead and Jean Noe of Harlan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the New Home Christian Church with the Rev. Danny Fannin officiating with burial at the Trent Cemetery, Trent Ridge. Pallbearers: Wayne Wilson, Eddie Mackelburg, Roy Conn, Billy Enix, Trent Enix, Arron Vance and Ricky Trent.”
