His gravestone has the years 1877-1953, but I can find no record of his death in Kentucky. He may have gone to live with one of his children out of state after Emma died in April 1953, died within the same year, and been returned home for burial. Marion, Indiana would be a good place to check.

Her death certificate (Vol. 14, #06940) states Emma Riddle, age 69 years, 3 mos, 21 days, born 15 Jan 1884 in Kentucky, died 6 Apr 1953 in Bath Co., residence Salt Lick, father Alvin Stephens, mother’s maiden name Fannie Stone, cause of death hypertensive heart disease, informant Clem Riddle. The marital status field says “q”, which I cannot interpret.

1930 census of Bath Co., Ky, Wyoming precinct, enumerated 12 April, lists on p. 6B as family #142/146:
Riddle, Clem, 52, age at first marriage 22, farmer; Emma, wife, 45, age at first marriage 36; Malinda, mother, 73, widowed. All born Ky Ky Ky.
