His obituary reported “Travis Edwin Trent, age 71, of Trent Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born December 3, 1938, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rev. Zora Trent and Vada Scaggs Trent. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Beauford Trent and J. C. Trent.
Travis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Kidd Trent, whom he wed July 19, 1958; four children: Travis Trent, Jr. (T. J.) and his wife Penney of Morehead, Kentucky, Joyce Blake and her husband Phillip of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, Janet Moore and her husband Mark of Ashland, Kentucky, and Sherry Wells, and her husband Jeff of Winter Haven, Florida; and eight grandchildren: Justin Blake, Richmond Blake, Austin Blake, Jaquelyn Wells, Jeffrey Wells, Stephen Moore, Kacey Moore, and Bailey Trent.
He is also survived by two brothers: Nelson Trent of Jacksonville, Florida, and Odice Trent of Morehead, Kentucky; three sisters, Martha Weddington of Elliott County, Kentucky, Darlene Webb of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Maudie Wallace of Clearfield, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Travis loved his family, friends, farm, and hunting. He had worked construction for East Kentucky Paving, Ruth Paving, and Hinkle Contracting. He also served on the Rowan County Conservation Board.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. H. G. Pratt and Rev. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent Black Cemetery on Trent Ridge.
