Rowan Co. marriage book 4, p. 142, contains a license issued 7 Nov 1901 for the marriage of John Epperhart, age 26, residence Minor, Ky, father born in Virginia, groom and his mother born in Rowan Co., to Lizzie Pigman, age 18, residence Morehead, born in Rowan Co., father Marion Pigman born in Letcher Co., mother Maggie Pigman born in Rowan Co.
There is no minister’s return, but a notarized letter from Marion & Maggie Day dated 16 Nov 1933 attests that the marriage took place at Marion Pigman's on 9 Nov 1901, officiated by T. W. Rose, and lists as other guests Alex & Kate Maxey, Clara Easterling, Harlan Blair, Milton Mark, Alice Bodkins, and Carl & Lillian Vinton.
John and Lizzie were first cousins once removed.
