Her death certificate records Emaline Sexton, age 74, born 8 Sep 1852 in Ky, died 7 Sep 1926 in Morgan Co., Kentucky, widowed, father not known, mother’s maiden name Rebecca Patrick, cause of death scrofula, informant blank, burial in Bailey Cemetery.

Her gravestone spells her name as Nancy E. Sexton, and gives her birth date as Sep 8, 1851 and her death date as Sep 27, 1926.

Caleb and Nancy Emeline are buried under a pair of matching stones with full birth and death dates. The stones are modern flat polished granite plaques, of a style that did not come into use until the 1960’s or later, so they were presumably installed to replace earlier stones that were eroded or lost.

1880 census of Morgan Co., Ky, Hampton’s Mill precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 2 as family #10:
Sexton, K. D., 32, laborer, b. Ky Ky Ky; Nancy E., wife, 29, b. Ky Ky Ky; Miles F., 2, son, b. Ky Ky Ky; Rebecca, 65, mother, b. Ky Va Va.

Rebecca is probably really Nancy’s mother, although if so, she was redundantly recorded in this census year as Rebecca Patrick, living alone (see her census notes.) If she isn’t Nancy’s mother, then she must be Caleb’s stepmother, from a late marriage, because his mother’s name was Mary.
