His gravestone says Oscar Roberts, 1895 -1976. The Kentucky death index says Oscar M. Roberts, age 80, died 5 Feb 1976 in Fayette Co., residence Bath Co., certificate Vol. 10, #4849. The 1900 census says that he was born May 1894, but since all of the other birthdates in that census record seem to be wrong, I see no reason to believe it.3

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 12, p. 62, records the marriage on 30 Dec 1919 of Oscar M. Roberts, age 24, son of J. F. & Annie Roberts, to Mae Cogswell, age 19, daughter of Joe & Mary Eliza Cogswell, both single, born in and residents of Rowan Co., at Cogswell by Leslie Brown, minister of the Church of God, witnesses Morten Roberts and Melina Cogswell.
