(Caroline Dalton Bond is a sister of Mary Jane Dalton, so she is really a sister-in-law rather than an aunt, and Lucinda and Cordillie are really nieces. But then, Mary Jane and Caroline are both second cousins once removed in the ascendancy to Robert, making Lucinda and Cordillie also his third cousins; perhaps it was the blood relationship he was referring to loosely as aunt and cousins rather than the relationship through marriage.)
