I cannot find a matching death record.

She was recorded as age 4 in 1850 and age 14 in 1860, suggesting a birthdate in 1846.

Her death certificate records Susan Easterling, age 81 years 1 month 16 days, born 10 Dec 1832 in Morgan Co., Ky, died 26 Jan 1913 in Lacy’s Creek precinct, Morgan Co., Ky, married, father Jerry Easterling, mother’s maiden name Sina Easterling, both born in Morgan Co., Ky, cause of death unknown died sudden, jury of inquest decided natural causes, informant blank, burial in White Oak.

The death certificate is very confusing. Her husband has been reported as her father, and I do not know how Sina Easterling fits in - there was a Sina Elam Easterling, wife of Henry Easterling, and they had a son named Jeremiah as well, but it was not the one who married Susanna. (Their Jeremiah married an Elizabeth, maiden name unknown.) If it were not for the matching death date on the gravestone, I would think this was a different Susan Easterling than the one who married Jeremiah C. Easterling.

Morgan Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 5 Aug 1869 of Jeremiah C. Easterling and Susan Easterling, at Joanna Easterling’s by J. B. Fugett, witnesses A. J. Howerton and James Easterling.

This family is not related to me, but since I am related to so many of the Easterling families of Morgan Co. through my Downing line (three Downing multi-great aunts married Easterling men), I am keeping track of all the Easterlings so that I can tell them apart.

1870 census of Morgan Co., Ky, River precinct, enumerated 5 Aug, lists on p. 12 as family #80:
Easterling, Jeremiah C., 26, b. Ky, farmer; Susan, 24, b. Ky; Joanna E., 1/12, b. Ky; Joanna, 65, b. Va.

1880 census of Morgan Co., Ky, River precinct, enumerated 4 June, lists on p. 6 as family #56:
Easterling, Susan, 34, married; Joannah E., 10, dau; Rhoda M., 8, dau; Ulissus, 3, son; Walter C., 1, son. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Jeremiah is recorded this year at Eastern State Hospital in Lexington as J. C. Easterling, age 37, patient, married, farmer.

I cannot find this family in the 1900 census.

1910 census of Morgan Co., Ky, River precinct, enumerated 21 April, lists on p. 4B as family #60/65:
Easterling, J. C., 67, b. Ky Va Ky, no occupation; Susan, wife, 65, b. Ky Ky Ky, first marriage for both, married 41 years, mother of 8 children, 2 living, superintendant of home farm; Elizabeth, dau, 39; Roda, dau, 37; Nettie, dau, 27. All daughters single and born Ky Ky Ky.

The preceding household is headed by their son Thomas, and the following one by their son Ulysses.

1920 census of Morgan Co., Ky, Lacy Creek precinct, enumerated 30 Jan, lists on p. 15A as family #252:
Easterling, Ulysses, 42, farmer; Lady D., wife, 37; Mary S., dau, 16; Rhoda M., dau, 14; William W., son, 11; Dora A., dau, 8; Joanna, sister, 48; Rhoda M., sister, 46; Netty E., sister, 35.

The next household is headed by Ulysses’ brother Thomas.
