Her obituary in the Pensacola News Journal reported:
“Violet Ola Roberts, age 81, of Pensacola, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Roberts began her life's journey on October 5, 1922 in Omar, West Virginia.
Mrs. Roberts had lived in Pensacola since 1995, when she moved to the area from Ft. Meade, Florida. She was a devoted homemaker as well as a partner with her husband, Wade W. Roberts, in his ministry for over 50 years with the Church of the Nazarene. After 62 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Roberts in lovingly remembered by her son, Thomas (Laura) Roberts and her daughter, Carol Hathaway, both of Pensacola; three sisters, Claramay Clay, Laura (George) Wehner, and Barbara (Charles) Mullins; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. All will miss her greatly.
Friends may call on the family from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2004 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 W. Nine Mile Rd., Pensacola.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Ensley Church of the Nazarene, 8300 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, with Reverend Byron Brown and Reverend Brian Schmelzenbach officiating. Entombment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.”
