Several family trees online at Ancestry.com list her death as 17 May 1917 in Rowan Co., Ky.

I cannot find a death record, though, even searching for all 1917 deaths in Rowan or Elliott Co., all 17 May 1917 deaths in the entire state, and all deaths of women with given name Em?ly or Emm* and father’s surname Carpenter, any date. Furthermore, if she died in 1917 (or any time after 1895) it would mean that she and George Wesley Bradley were divorced, and if so, it would seem uncommon for George and his second wife Alpha Whisman to have raised Wesley and Emily’s children. So I suspect that someone may have entered the wrong death date, which then spread to other trees.

Elliott Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 3 April 1874 of George W. Bradley, age 21, born in Bath Co., Ky, to Emily Carpenter, age 19, born in Breathitt Co., Ky. Both are recorded as residents of Elliott Co., Ky, with fathers born in Breathitt Co. and mothers born in Floyd Co.

1880 census of Elliott Co., Moccasin precinct, lists as household 133:
G. W. Bradley, 27; Emily, 24; Genevia, 5; Madaline, 2. All born in Ky. The mortality schedule lists at the same house number the death of John H. Bradley, age 6 months, on Sep 1879, of inflammation of the brain.
