His obituary in the Licking Valley Courier reported “Clinton Joseph Dehart, 93, of Highway 7, West Liberty, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at Elliott County Nursing Home.
Born Sunday, Dec. 31, 1911, in Elliott County, Kentucky, Mr. Dehart was a son of the late O.M. and Allie Mae Lewis Dehart. He was a farmer and carpenter, and was retired from the state highway department. Mr. Dehart was a born again Christian.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Otha, Walter, Clyde, and Clayton Dehart; and two sisters, Opal Banks and Emma Lou Dehart.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Hazel Whitt Dehart, whom he married October 23,1930; and seven children, Don and Delma Dehart, of Kettering, Ohio, Charles and Vivian Dehart, of Fairborn, Ohio, Dale and Frances Dehart, of Fort Mitchell, Harold and Ruth Dehart, of Huber Heights, Ohio, Brenda and Elden Adkins, of Highway 7, West Liberty, Carolyn and John Litteral, of Nicholasville, and Jimmie and Debbie Dehart, of Rockhill, South Carolina; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 2, at Potter Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Eugene Haney and Rev. Vernon Lewis officiating. Burial followed in the Dehart Cemetery, Highway 7, West Liberty, with Potter Funeral Home, of West Liberty, in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were David Adkins, Jeffery Adkins, Brad Ramey, Douglas Dehart, Elden Adkins, Timothy Dehart, John Duffy Litteral, Greg Litteral, and Darren Litteral.”
