The Kentucky birth index lists Austin Wallace, born 16 Apr 1918 in Rowan Co., mother’s maiden name Lizzie Jones. It is a delayed certificate, filed in 1942. The birth year is off by five years (he was not in the 1920 census at all, and he was recorded as 7 in the 1930 census and 17 in the 1940 census.) It may be that when he registered for the army, they could not locate his original certificate due to the misspelling.
