The J. W. Kegley Diary has a 1911 entry “Joseph Housell brother to my grandmother Deliah Kegley died Oct. 15 at Wytheville Va” and another one “Delilah Kegley helped cook her 82nd birthday dinner July 2nd. She picked the beans and vegetables from the garden.”
The last entry for 1919 is “Delila Kegley w/o Joel Kegley died Dec 29 flu"
Her death certificate records Delilah Kegley, age 89 years 5 months 27 days, born 2 July 1830 in Wythe Co., Virginia, died 29 Dec 1919 in Elliott Co., Ky, widow, father Peter Hounshell, mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Catron, both born in Virginia, cause of death la grippe, informant blank, burial in Elliott Cemetery.
The last entry for 1919 is “Delila Kegley w/o Joel Kegley died Dec 29 flu"
