“Clide” was listed in the census as a son age 9 in 1900, but as a daughter “Clydie” age 17 in 1910. The latter gender is apparently the correct one, since the Kentucky Birth Index lists two sons, James A. Leach born 31 July 1928 and Earl C. Leach born 2 June 1931, mother’s maiden name Clyde Clark.
