(The description of parents’ age and birthplace is according to the column labels at the top of the page. It appears by comparison with census records, though, that the records were consistently entered with the father’s data in the mother’s column and vice versa. This rather makes sense, since the layout of the form is odd: the columns area in the order father’s age and birthplace, mother’s age and birthplace, mother’s name and residence, father’s name and occupation. It is more logical to have the age and birthplace columns match that of the name columns. So I can see why they switched them; I just think they should have made an annotation on the column labels to say they were doing so.)
