In 1910 he was listed as Riley Sarrell, 86, father-in-law, widowed, in the household of John Ingram and his wife Catherine.

1850 census of Bath Co., Ky, district 2, enumerated 8 Aug, lists on p. 52 as family #351:
William R. Sorrell, 28, laborer; Elizabeth, 28; Gideon, 8; Elizabeth, 5; unnamed female, 2. All born in Ky.
