Morgan Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 11 Aug 1853 of Scott W. Fulks, age 23, born in Lawrence Co., Ky, to Lockey Adkins, age 18, born in Pike Co., Ky, both residence of Morgan Co., by John W. Ferguson.

This family appears in most early records as either Fulks or Fults. But virtually all of their descendants settled on the spelling Fultz - the cemetery survey of Rowan County and the border area of other counties lists a single Fults inscription (for John Fults 25 July 1919 - 9 Mar 1951), and 110 Fultz burials. So I am entering Scott’s suname as Fultz to make him index with his children.

Fults, Scott, farmer; Lockey, 35; Sandford, 15; James, 12; William, 10; Eliza, 7; John, 4; Mary, 3; Barney, 1. Pelfrey, Fleming, 21, farm laborer. All born in Kentucky.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Christie Creek precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 44 as family #303/325:
Fults, Dockey, 50, widowed; Harrison, 18, son; Eliza A., 17, dau, divorced; John, 14, son; Mary, 13, dau; Barney, 9, son; Sarah J., 7, dau; Frank, 6, son; Edward W., 4, son; Elva A., 2, dau; Calvin S., 1, son. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Their son Sandford is listed two households above, as age 25 with a wife Elizabeth age 30 and daughter Martha age 4 months.
