His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Elias Jent, age 45, residence Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, born 2 July 1873, occupation carpenter, employer Earnie Patton, Soldier, Ky, nearest relative wife Mrs. Rosie B. Jent, same address, medium height and build, blue eyes, brown hair, no disabilities.

(The “no disabilities” part seems in conflict with the 1880 census that recorded Elias as deaf and mute.)

Her death certificate states Rosie Bell Jent, age 70 years 3 months 20 days, born 7 Feb 1864 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 27 May 1944 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, RR2, married, wife of Elias Jent, age 69, father Morge Brown, mother’s maiden name Alice Hammons, both born in Rowan Co., cause of death cerebral hemorrhage, informant Troy Jent, Clearfield, Ky, burial in Slate Point Cemetery.

Note that there are actually 80 years between 1864 and 1944, not 70. Judging by census records, it is the age that is correct, at least within a year, and the birthdate that is wrong. Her gravestone says Rosie V. Jent “Mother” 1873 - 1944.

(This census taker has scratched out all the B’s and all the original paired numbers, replacing them with A’s and purely sequential numbers, so that the 9th image is page 9A, the 10th image is page 10A, etc.)

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 25 April, lists on p. 13A as family #223/246:
Jent, Elias, 57, age at first marriage 18, farmer; Rosa Belle, wife, 57, age at first marriage 19; Cora, dau, 27; Lizza, dau, 19; Lillie, dau, 13; Davis, Hazel, granddau, 12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Their son Robert heads the next household with his wife Mary Ann, and their son Troy is three households above with his wife Nettie.
