Be careful not to confuse him with Charles Nelms Lewis, born 21 Jan 1890 in Carter Co., son of William Jackson Lewis and Maud Botts, who died 18 June 1964.

Possibly the Charles Lewis who married Mary Inez Highley in 1911 in Bath Co, but if so, he must have remarried soon after she died in 1913.
